I'm Joe Schwartz, founder of Hollywood Hair. I was a pilot in Vietnam and I thought the heat and my helmet were causing my hair loss. I figured it would grow back after the service but unfortunately I was wrong.
Thirty years ago hairpieces had a bad reputation as being "rugs"...thick and unnatural looking. Not exactly what I was looking for so off I went to Beverly Hills and got a hair transplant. Big mistake. But that's a whole other story. So out of necessity I had to go on the "great hairpiece hunt".
I wanted the best, so to play it safe I went where the movie stars went. Over a five year period I became a client of all the top places. Each company had something good but I wanted the whole enchilada...a custom hair system with all the best rolled into one.
And that's how Hollywood Hair came to be. By combing the secrets of the old masters like Max Factor, Ziggy, Charlie Wright and Don Jeffries I was able to create the ultimate custom hair systems.
Max, Charlie and Don are gone and Ziggys' retired. Now Hollywood Hair is the last place where you can go in and actually watch custom hair pieces being made.
